Style Blogger Liz Eidelman Talks Kids Fall Fashion

Life & style blogger Liz Eidelman knows a few things about wearable fashion for kids. She's been featured on The Rachael Ray Show as a maternity style expert, and she incorporates all things motherhood into what she shares—including children's style inspiration for parents. A a mom herself, Liz focuses on attainable, affordable mother/daughter fashion and the experiences that go along with the outfits.

We sat down with Liz (virtually!) to talk kids fall fashion for 2020, and we sure did snag some great tips from her. Check out the interview below.

What are the top trends you're loving for toddler and kids fashion this fall?

"Corduroy is back, from lightweight jackets to overalls. It seems this textured fabric has made its way into the fall lines of so many of my favorite childrenswear brands. My personal favorite for this material? Skirted jumpers.

I'm also loving what I like to call 'moody florals,' which is really just a fancy way of saying 'neutral-toned floral prints!' I love florals year round, but there's something so beautiful about dresses and blouses when they're set amongst warm and cozy colors."

Where are you shopping for fall outfits for your daughter Indie?

"Rylee + Cru is one of my favorite brands. They are often sold through stockists and small shops (which I love to support), but their website houses everything in their fall line right now, including some matching pieces for mamas, which is a huge plus!

As far as more major retailers go, I'm always a huge fan of finding staples and basics from Zara or H&M. They often run with the neutral palette trend that I love for kids."

What's one tip you think is crucial for dressing toddlers/kids for fall?

"This is an interesting question because last fall Indie was a 'baby-baby' and I didn't need to think about the function of her outfits. Since this is my first real fall with a mobile toddler, I'll definitely be learning as I go.

So far, I'd say to splurge and invest in a really good boot or shoe that your little one can grow into. I love The Humble Soles and Adelisa & Co. for shoes that are sturdy, well-made, and classic.

I would also suggest having a mid-weight button-up cardigan in a neutral color that matches everything! Where I'm at in New Jersey, I can count on the first several weeks of fall to be warmer during the day and chilly in the evening. Much like you would for an adult, layering is the smartest way to dress your toddler or kid without having to actually put them in a confining coat."

Any ideas or brands for fall matching & coordinating outfits with your kid?

"As I mentioned, Rylee + Cru is my go-to for mother/daughter looks! H&M also sometimes has similar or coordinating pieces. Though I haven't yet personally shopped from either of these stores yet, I've had my eye on some gorgeous "mommy and me" looks from RooLee and Ivy City Co.

All that said, "mommy and me" looks can be created simply by focusing on the color palette and mood of the pieces you're pulling. A great example is our coordinating look in the photo I provided, where Indie's dress is Rylee + Cru and my dress is from Target! You don't need matching prints to have matching outfits!"
